Ankle & foot pain

Ankle and foot problems include sprains that have not fully recovered, heel pain that bites first thing in the morning, and pain through the arch or forefoot with walking and running.

What tends to cause it

Ankles in particular are often under-rehabbed. Pain settles, activity resumes, but the balance and strength deficits stay, which is why re-injury rates are so high. Heel and arch pain is usually load-related and responds to the same principles as tendon pain elsewhere.

How we treat it

We restore range with hands-on treatment, retrain balance and control, and rebuild the strength and tolerance the foot and ankle need for your activity.

What it often feels like

  • Heel pain with the first steps of the day
  • An ankle that still feels unreliable after a sprain
  • Pain through the arch or forefoot
  • Swelling after being on your feet
  • Repeated rolling of the same ankle

Not sure if this is what you have? An initial assessment works that out before deciding how to treat it.
