Hip pain can be deep in the groin, sharp in the buttock, or focused on the outside of the hip so that lying on that side at night becomes uncomfortable. Getting in and out of the car is often the first thing people notice.
The hip refers pain widely, so it is often mistaken for a back problem and vice versa. Gluteal tendon pain, joint-related pain and referred pain from the spine all present in overlapping ways, which is why the assessment matters more here than almost anywhere else.
We work out where the pain is actually coming from, settle it, and build strength through the glutes and surrounding muscle. Where sleep is being disrupted, we also look at positioning, which often makes a noticeable difference early.
Not sure if this is what you have? An initial assessment works that out before deciding how to treat it.
